A bit of history...

Seven years ago, I was sleepwalking through a career as a college English professor, and it was…fine. My coworkers, colleagues, and students were all phenomenal, but the gig just wasn’t doing it for me anymore. I needed a shift—a parallel one preferably.
Y’all, serendipity is very real.
Around that time, my friend Hollie texted me out of the blue and asked if I’d like to make some extra cash doing freelance copywriting for a client of an ad agency she worked for in Greensboro. She said they were looking for a “humor” perspective (whatever the eff that means), and so she thought of me.
The client was Stainmaster, and I dove right in. The ask was simple social copy, nothing heavy-lift-y at all. But it felt like a whole new world for me, and I loved every second of it. I immediately went to Hollie and asked if there were any full-time openings. There happened to be an open editor position…
…and I haven’t looked back. I lived the agency life for a few years before setting out on my own as a freelance author/editor/copywriter. And that’s where we are today.
For 7 years, I have curated a list of agencies, creative networks, and clients for whom I’ve written, edited, and helped lead to creative success.
